CHRISTIAN SCIENCE.

- Section 3 -

John 14:2,3,16,17,26
2 In my Father's house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a
place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I
am, there ye may be also.
16 And I will pray the Father, and
he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom
the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him; for he dwelleth with
you, and shall be in you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the
Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send
in my name, he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said
unto you.

For heaven's Christus, earthly Eves,
By Adam bid,
Make merriment on Christmas eves,
O'er babe and crib.

Thy kingdom is come,
 Thou art ever-present.

(A definite rule discovered)
Our Master healed the sick, practised Christian healing, and
taught the generalities of its divine Principle to his students;
but he left no definite rule for demonstrating this Principle of
healing and preventing disease. This rule remained to be
discovered in Christian Science.

271:20 Chapter 10: Science of Being

Chapter 10: Science of Being
Divine Science understood and acknowledged.

I thank Thee O Father,...

Thus olden faith's pale star now blends
In seven-hued white!
Life, without birth and without end,
Emitting light!

Give us grace for to-day;
feed the famished affections.

(New Testament basis)
Our Master said, "But the Comforter . . . shall teach you all
things." When the Science of Christianity appears, it will lead
you into all truth. The Sermon on the Mount is the essence of
this Science, and the eternal life, not the death of Jesus, is its
outcome.

(Christian Science discovered)
In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws
of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian
Science. God had been graciously preparing me during many years
for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine
Principle of scientific mental healing.
(Mission of Christian Science)
This apodictical Principle points to the revelation of Immanuel,
"God with us," - the sovereign ever-presence, delivering the
children of men from every ill "that flesh is heir to."

123:16-29 Chapter 6: Science, Theology, Medicine

(Seeming and being)
The term CHRISTIAN SCIENCE was introduced by the author to
designate the scientific system of divine healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind healing,
through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the
teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-called
miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a dispensation now
ended, but that they illustrated an ever-operative divine
Principle. The operation of this Principle indicates the
eternality of the scientific order and continuity of being.

150:4 Chapter 6: Science, Theology, Medicine

(The main purpose)
To-day the healing power of Truth is widely demonstrated as an
immanent, eternal Science, instead of a phenomenal exhibition.
Its appearing is the coming anew of the gospel of "on earth peace,
good-will toward men." This coming, as was promised by the
Master, is for its establishment as a permanent dispensation among
men; but the mission of Christian Science now, as in the time of
its earlier demonstration, is not primarily one of physical
healing. Now, as then, signs and wonders are wrought in the
metaphysical healing of physical disease; but these signs are only
to demonstrate its divine origin, - to attest the reality of the
higher mission of the Christ-power to take away the sins of the
world.
