1 In the beginning God created the
heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form,
and void; and darkness was upon the
face of the deep. And the Spirit of
God moved upon the face of the

in our image, after our likeness: and
let them have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the

all the earth, and over every

27 So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.
4 The Spirit of God hath made me,
and the breath of the Almighty hath
given me life.
24 God that made the world and all
things therein, seeing that he is Lord
of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in
temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's
hands, as though he needed any thing,
seeing he giveth to all life, and
breath, and all things;

nations of men for to dwell on all
the face of the earth, and hath

if haply they might feel after him,
and find him, though he be not far
from every one of us:

and have our being; as certain also
of your own poets have said, For we
are also his offspring.

(Real and unreal identity)
What is Soul? Does life or soul exist in the thing formed?
Nothing is real and eternal, - nothing is Spirit, - but God and
His idea. Evil has no reality. It is neither person, place, nor
thing, but is simply a belief, an illusion of material sense.
The identity, or idea, of all reality continues forever; but
Spirit, or the divine Principle of all, is not in Spirit's
formations. Soul is synonymous with Spirit, God, the creative,
governing, infinite Principle outside of finite form, which forms

Divine Science encompassing the universe and man;...
Truth versus error
|To-day, as oft, away from sin |
Christ summons thee!
Truth pleads to-night: Just take Me in!
No mass for Me!
God leadeth us not into temptation, but delivereth us from sin, disease, and death.

Question 15. - What are body and Soul?
ADAM = A so-called finite mind, producing other minds,
thus making "gods many and lords many." (I Corinthians viii. 5)
(Reflection of Spirit)
Question. - What are body and Soul?
Answer. - Identity is the reflection of Spirit, the
reflection in multifarious forms of the living Principle, Love.
Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is
individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect
anything inferior to Spirit.
(Man inseperable from Spirit)
Man is the expression of Soul. The Indians caught some glimpses
of the underlying reality, when they called a certain beautiful
lake "the smile of the Great Spirit." Separated from man, who
expresses Soul, Spirit would be a nonentity; man, divorced from
Spirit, would lose his entity. But there is, there can be, no
such division, for man is coexistent with God.

Christmas Eve (2)
|For heaven's Christus, earthly Eves, |
By Adam bid,
Make merriment on Christmas eves,
O'er babe and crib.
Thy kingdom is come,
Thou art ever-present.

(The sun and Soul)
In viewing the sunrise, one finds that it contradicts the
evidence before the senses to believe that the earth is in motion
and the sun at rest. As astronomy reverses the human perception
of the movement of the solar system, so Christian Science reverses
the seeming relation of Soul and body and makes body tributary to
Mind. Thus it is with man, who is but the humble servant of the
restful Mind, though it seems otherwise to finite sense. But we
shall never understand this while we admit that soul is in body or
mind in matter, and that man is included in non-intelligence. Soul,
or Spirit, is God, unchangeable and eternal; and man coexists with
and reflects Soul, God, for man is God's image.
