Genesis 1:27,31
27 So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.

31 And God saw every thing that he
had made, and, behold, it was very
good. And the evening and the morning
were the sixth day.
Genesis 2:6,7
6 But there went up a mist from the
earth, and watered the whole face of
the ground.
7 And the Lord God formed man of
the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
Genesis 3:19
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt
thou eat bread, till thou return unto
the ground; for out of it wast thou
taken: for dust thou art, and unto
dust shalt thou return.

525:4 Chapter 15: Genesis

Chapter 15: Genesis
Divine Science encompassing the universe and man;...

The Way

No blight, no broken wing, no moan,
Truth's fane can dim;
Eternal swells Christ's music-tone,
In heaven's hymn.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Cardinal point 2 - Column 4 - Extended

(Creation reversed)
Man reflects God; mankind represents the Adamic race, and is a
human, not a divine, creation.

521:26 Chapter 15: Genesis

(The story of error)
The second chapter of Genesis contains a statement of this
material view of God and the universe, a statement which is the
exact opposite of scientific truth as before recorded. The
history of error or matter, if veritable, would set aside the
omnipotence of Spirit; but it is the false history in
contradistinction to the true.

505:29 Chapter 15: Genesis

(Original reflected)
The mortal, erring, and finite are human beliefs, which
apportion to themselves a task impossible for them, that of
distinguishing between the false and the true. Objects utterly
unlike the original do not reflect that original. Therefore
matter, not being the reflection of Spirit, has no real entity.
Understanding is a quality of God, a quality which separates
Christian Science from supposition and makes Truth final.

526:8-15 Chapter 15: Genesis

(Contradicting first creation)
Belief is less than understanding. Belief involves theories of
material hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell, termed the five
senses. The appetites and passions, sin, sickness, and death,
follow in the train of this error of a belief in intelligent
(Record of error)
The first mention of evil is in the legendary Scriptural text in
the second chapter of Genesis.

279:6 Chapter 10: Science of Being

Chapter 10: Science of Being
Divine Science understood and acknowledged.

I thank Thee O Father,...

Thus olden faith's pale star now blends
In seven-hued white!
Life, without birth and without end,
Emitting light!

Give us grace for to-day;
feed the famished affections.

Cardinal point 3 - Column 3 - Extended

(Material mortality)
The doom of matter establishes the conclusion that matter,
slime, or protoplasm never originated in the immortal Mind, and is
therefore not eternal. Matter is neither created by Mind nor for
the manifestation and support of Mind.

338:27 Chapter 10: Science of Being - [PLATFORM]

(-29- Adam not ideal man)
Jehovah declared the ground was accursed; and from this ground,
or matter, sprang Adam, notwithstanding God had blessed the earth
"for man's sake." From this it follows that Adam was not the ideal
man for whom the earth was blessed. The ideal man was revealed in
due time, and was known as Christ Jesus.
