- Section 1 -
13 Let no man say when he is
tempted, I am tempted of God: for God
cannot be tempted with evil, neither
tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when
he is drawn away of his own lust, and
15 Then when lust hath conceived,
it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when
it is finished, bringeth forth death.
I John 3:4-8
4 Whosoever committeth sin
transgresseth also the law: for sin
is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was
manifested to take away our sins; and
in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth
not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen
him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man
deceive you: he that doeth
righteousness is righteous, even as
he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the
devil; for the devil sinneth from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son
of God was manifested, that he might
destroy the works of the devil.

Life, without birth and without end,
Give us grace for to-day;
feed the famished affections.
point 3 - Column 3 - Extended
It is the belief of the flesh and of material sense which sins.
If Soul sinned, Soul would die. Sin is the element of
self-destruction, and spiritual death is oblivion. If there was
sin in Soul, the annihilation of Spirit would be inevitable. The
only Life is Spirit, and if Spirit should lose Life as God, good,
then Spirit, which has no other existence, would be annihilated.
311:9 Chapter 10: Science of Being
(Sin only of the flesh)
All sin is of the flesh. It cannot be spiritual. Sin exists
here or hereafter only so long as the illusion of mind in matter
remains. It is a sense of sin, and not a sinful soul, which is
lost. Evil is destroyed by the sense of good.

Thy will be done in earth,

point 2 - Column 2 - Extended
(Embryonic sinful thoughts)
The belief of sin, which has grown terrible in strength and
influence, is an unconscious error in the beginning, - an
embryonic thought without motive; but afterwards it governs the

point 2 - Column 3 - Extended
(Two infinite creators absurd)
Does subsequent follow its antecedent? It does. Was there
original self-creative sin? Then there must have been more than
one creator, more than one God. In common justice, we must admit
that God will not punish man for doing what He created man capable
of doing, and knew from the outset that man would do. God is "of
purer eyes than to behold evil." We sustain Truth, not by
accepting, but by rejecting a lie.

Truth versus error

Christ summons thee!
Truth pleads to-night: Just take Me in!
No mass for Me!
God leadeth us not into temptation, but delivereth us from sin, disease, and death.

Question 16. - Does brain think, and do nerves feel, and is
there intelligence in matter?
ADAM = A product of nothing as the mimicry of something.
It is the opposite of good - that is, evil - which seems to make
men capable of wrong-doing. Hence, evil is but an illusion, and
it has no real basis. Evil is a false belief. God is not its
author. The supposititious parent of evil is a lie.
