- Section 4 -

John 3:6
6 That which is born of the flesh
is flesh; and that which is born of
the Spirit is spirit.

Galatians 5:17,18
17 For the flesh lusteth against
the Spirit, and the Spirit against
the flesh: and these are contrary the
one to the other: so that ye cannot
do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit,
ye are not under the law.

Romans 8:13
13 For if ye live after the flesh,
ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the
body, ye shall live.

171:23 Chapter 7: Physiology

Chapter 7: Physiology
The rights of woman acknowledged
morally, civilly, and socially.

Christmas Morn

Yet wherefore signalize the birth
Of him ne'er born?
What can rehearse the glorious worth
Of his high morn?

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Cardinal point 2 - Column 2 - Extended

(Matter versus Spirit)
No more sympathy exists between the flesh and Spirit than
between Belial and Christ.

356:9 Chapter 11: Some Objections Answered

Chapter 11: Some Objections Answered
Divine Science understood and acknowledged.

Treating the sick

The Way, the Truth, the Life - His word -
Are here, and now
Christ's silent healing, heaven heard,
Crowns the pale brow.

And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.

Cardinal point 2 - Column 3 - Extended

(Irreconcilable differences)
Jesus reasoned on this subject practically, and controlled
sickness, sin, and death on the basis of his spirituality.
Understanding the nothingness of material things, he spoke of
flesh and Spirit as the two opposites, - as error and Truth, not
contributing in any way to each other's happiness and existence.
Jesus knew, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth

276:29-5 Chapter 10: Science of Being

Chapter 10: Science of Being
Divine Science understood and acknowledged.

I thank Thee O Father,...

Thus olden faith's pale star now blends
In seven-hued white!
Life, without birth and without end,
Emitting light!

Give us grace for to-day;
feed the famished affections.

Cardinal point 3 - Column 3 - Extended

(Like evolving like)
Nature and revelation inform us that like produces like. Divine
Science does not gather grapes from thorns nor figs from thistles.
Intelligence never produces non-intelligence; but matter is ever
non-intelligent and therefore cannot spring from intelligence. To
all that is unlike unerring and eternal Mind, this Mind saith,
"Thou shalt surely die;" and elsewhere the Scripture says that
dust returns to dust. The non-intelligent relapses into its own

538:7 Chapter 15: Genesis

Chapter 15: Genesis
Divine Science encompassing the universe and man;...

The Way

No blight, no broken wing, no moan,
Truth's fane can dim;
Eternal swells Christ's music-tone,
In heaven's hymn.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Cardinal point 2 - Column 4 - Extended

(Spiritual gateway)
Radiant with mercy and justice, the sword of Truth gleams afar and
indicates the infinite distance between Truth and error, between
the material and spiritual, - the unreal and the real.

212:29 Chapter 8: Footsteps of Truth

Chapter 8: Footsteps of Truth
The rights of woman acknowledged
morally, civilly, and socially.

Christian Science Healing (1)

Christ was not crucified - that doom
Was Jesus' part;
For Sharon's rose must bud and bloom
In human heart. *
*God was manifest in the Flesh- St.Paul

Enable us to know, -as in heaven, so on earth,- God is omnipotent, supreme.

Cardinal point 1 - Column 2 - Extended

(No miracles in Mind-methods)
The realities of being, its normal action, and the origin of all
things are unseen to mortal sense; whereas the unreal and
imitative movements of mortal belief, which would reverse the
immortal modus and action, are styled the real. Whoever
contradicts this mortal mind supposition of reality is called a
deceiver, or is said to be deceived. Of a man it has been said,
"As he thinketh in his heart, so is he;" hence as a man
spiritually understandeth, so is he in truth.
