Popular theology takes up the history of man as if he began
materially right, but immediately fell into mental sin; whereas
revealed religion proclaims the Science of Mind and its formations
as being in accordance with the first chapter of the Old
Testament, when God, Mind, spake and it was done.

Jehovah declared the ground was accursed; and from this ground,
or matter, sprang Adam, notwithstanding God had blessed the earth
"for man's sake." From this it follows that Adam was not the ideal
man for whom the earth was blessed. The ideal man was revealed in
due time, and was known as Christ Jesus.

According to divine Science, man is in a degree as perfect as
the Mind that forms him. The truth of being makes man harmonious
and immortal, while error is mortal and discordant.

XXVI. Christian Science demonstrates that none but the pure in
heart can see God, as the gospel teaches. In proportion to his
purity is man perfect; and perfection is the order of celestial
being which demonstrates Life in Christ, Life's spiritual ideal.

(Indestructible relationship)
The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are
indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor
return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in
which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have
remained unchanged in its eternal history.
