LIFE.

- Section 1 -
(Biological inventions) Which institutes Life, - matter or Mind? Does Life begin with Mind or with matter? Is Life sustained by matter or by Spirit? Certainly not by both, since flesh wars against Spirit and the corporeal senses can take no cognizance of Spirit. The mythologic theory of material life at no point resembles the scientifically Christian record of man as created by Mind in the image and likeness of God and having dominion over all the earth. 193:32-2 Chapter 7: Physiology
(Mind cures hip-disease) It has been demonstrated to me that Life is God and that the might of omnipotent Spirit shares not its strength with matter or with human will. 107:15 Chapter 6: Science, Theology, Medicine
(Discontent with life) Feeling so perpetually the false consciousness that life inheres in the body, yet remembering that in reality God is our Life, we may well tremble in the prospect of those days in which we must say, "I have no pleasure in them." 390:4 Chapter 12: Christian Science Practice
(Ultimate harmony) We cannot deny that Life is self-sustained, and we should never deny the everlasting harmony of Soul, simply because, to the mortal senses, there is seeming discord. It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony. Truth will at length compel us all to exchange the pleasures and pains of sense for the joys of Soul. 428:26-4 Chapter 12: Christian Science Practice (The present immortality) The evidence of man's immortality will become more apparent, as material beliefs are given up and the immortal facts of being are admitted. (Careful guidance) The author has healed hopeless organic disease, and raised the dying to life and health through the understanding of God as the only Life. It is a sin to believe that aught can overpower omnipotent and eternal Life, and this Life must be brought to light by the understanding that there is no death, as well as by other graces of Spirit. | ||||||||||||||||
